Coal

Gasoline

We also have an energy overview dashboard that you can use to see all the energy related indicators on Quandl.

Using the Data

All of Quandl’s energy data is available to download in any format; via our API and our tools; and via our Excel addin.

To find the data you need, you can go to any database page on Quandl. Click on the documentation tab to learn more about the data and how it is organized, or search within the database to find the specific datasets you need. Visit individual dataset pages to download or export the data.

API Access

Here is an example API call:

https://www.quandl.com/api/v3/datasets/EIA/SEDS_PAPRP_IL_A.csv?order=asc&start_date=2010-01-01&end_date=2012-12-31&api_key=YOURAPIKEY

The above call gets the crude oil production in Illinois, in ascending date order, from the start of 2010 to the end of 2012, in csv format, from the EIA database. The Quandl code for this dataset is EIA/SEDS_PAPRP_IL_A.

Many more transformations and manipulations of the data are available; see our full API reference for more details. You can also access Quandl data directly from within the analysis tool of your choice — R, Python, Excel, Matlab, Maple and more — using our free tools.
